~When you hear a popular drumming track you know instinctively where it comes from. Think the moving intensity of Phil Collins’ ‘In the Air Tonight’. Or the epic masterpiece of Led Zeppelin’s ‘Stairway to Heaven’. Perhaps still, the youthful angst of Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’.

On a local level a drumming workshop has been established for some time  and welcomes all ages from experienced people in their 60’s to young people in their teens.

‘The Worldwise Samba Drummers’ is a community group who meet each week to play loud, high energy drum patterns drawn from or based upon Brazilian samba and candomble.

Don’t worry if you don’t have access to an instrument they are all provided, just turn up and have a go, willingness is encouraged in this relaxed group.

The group meets every Wednesday between the hours of 6pm -8pm at UCLAN’S Media Factory, Room 035.

The first session is free then it’s £3 per session. Reasonable, fun and within close locality to the city centre, what more could you want!
